Jerry M. Gutlon is an award-winning print and broadcast
journalist who has been published in The New York Times, the Washington Post, Worcester Magazine, The New York Daily News
and Civil Action magazine, among others. He’s also reported extensively for ABC Radio News, The Associated Press and
United Press International.
Gutlon,
whose expertise lies in investigative news journalism and incisive sports reporting, was the recipient of a 1973 Barry Award
for Best Achievement in Television Sports Reporting, a 1980 New York State Broadcasters’ Association Award for Public
Service Reporting and numerous statewide awards for excellence in daily print reporting. He was nominated for eleven Alfred
I. DuPont-Columbia University Broadcast Journalism Awards between 1981-1983, among dozens of his other broadcast and print
news award nominations.
Gutlon
has served as a staff writer and editor at numerous daily newspapers, including The Stuart News (Stuart, FL), the Daily Commercial
(Leesburg, FL), the Chronicle (Willimantic, CT), the Griffin Daily News (Griffin, GA) and the Daily News Tribune (Cartersville,
GA). He’s also worked in broadcast news and sports at WINR-TV (Boston, MA), WORC Radio (Worcester, MA), WNEB Radio (Worcester,
MA), WXAM Radio (Charlottesville, VA) and WDOS/WSRK (Oneonta, NY).
He
served seventeen years in the US Army and the Army National Guard, and spent part of 2006 in the Republic of Korea as a writer-editor
for a weekly newspaper. Jerry is currently authoring two nonfiction books.
